Sydnee's Wedding: The Bachelorette and Rehearsal

SO! The Tuesday before Sydnee's wedding was the bachelorette! The other bridesmaids and I had planned it secretly, only telling Syd what day it was. Though, her mom kind of accidentally spilled the beans and so she pretty much knew where we were going. And where did we go, you may ask? To a nail bar to get some manis and pedis! It was awesome. We dressed Sydnee up with a crown and a sash that said "Princess" and headed out to a neighbouring town. Oh, she LOVED us for making her wear the costume. Haha. :) Originally, we were going to eat some snacks there and just hang out there (they had the option to watch movies if you want and all this kind of stuff) - but we didn't have enough girls there (because if you wanted to do that, you had to buy a package, and it wasn't really worth it), so instead, we just went out to eat at Red Robins afterwards.

The pedicure Anna (Sydnee's step-sister who replaced her sister Sephora, who couldn't come) got! I got the same colour. :) And Madeleine's seafoam-colour pedicure is pictured below!

After the restaurant, we had planned some free time, so the other girls who had been invited could have a say in what happened as well. Though, I was starting to feel a little under the weather and I knew I had to work at 5am the next day, so I didn't go with them to the club downtown (not really my thing anyways)... But I heard they had a good time, so I think the bachelorette went well, all in all!

Then, the next day, was our final dress fitting for the bridesmaids! I was still feeling sick, and had actually gone home early from work that day, but it was still fun. We had planned to go out to eat but it just didn't work out, so it was back to bed for all of us! (The other girls, minus Anna, who is underage and hadn't gone downtown, were still feeling the effects, so to speak, from the night before, as well.)

So, the next day that we all saw each other was for the rehearsal up at the rose garden! The weatherman was predicting rain for the weekend, but the day of the rehearsal was quite nice, so we were crossing our fingers! Here are some more pictures I snapped of some of the roses!

We ran through the ceremony a couple of times. It went quite smoothly and was a lot of fun. I couldn't believe that the wedding was the next day! Over a year of planning, and here we were, doing the final run through!

After the rehearsal, the wedding party all went to the reception site to set up the tables and chairs for the next day. The majority of set-up was happening the next day, but we at least got all the manual labour out of the way by unfolding all the tables and putting the proper amount of chairs around them. It was hard to imagine what the room would look like the next day, all decorated and full of people. It was harder to imagine, though, that the next time we would be here, Sydnee would be Mrs. Sagalla!

More to come, soon.......

Take a gander at my checklist.

So. Many. Things. To. Do.

- Sydnee's bachelorette this week. Yay! (Figure out last minute details!)
- Write speech. DONE.
- Figure out shoe situation. (Bought a pair, but they might not have a couple of the other girls' sizes... Meet with Madeleine so she can try old pair on, then return old pairs if necessary, and find a new pair with the girls)
- Final dress fitting.
- Get a card for the wedding gift.
- Last minute tanning in the sun?
- Go to rehearsal.
- Talk to photographer, make sure everything is ready to go!
- Put together my "bridesmaid survival kit" to take to the wedding! (Bandaids, hair pins, tissues, all that kind of stuff!)
- Remember to eat... just went downstairs to find my forgotten mac 'n' cheese sitting there, cold and un-eatable. :(
- Sleep? Not happening.
- Keep Sydnee calm!
- Get highlights??? If time.
- Help Sydnee with any last minute preparations. (Ask about updated schedule?)
- Phone tutor student to cancel tutor session for day of wedding
- Make list of everything need to bring to wedding.
- Work, school, church, other responsibilities!

Yay!

1 year later.

It's been almost a year since Sydnee and I last went to the rose garden to see her ceremony site. And by chance, yesterday, a group of friends and I went there, as well. So, I thought I'd snap some pictures to show what it looks like this year, before Sydnee gets married there shortly!

The roses aren't as "in bloom" as they were at this time last year (mostly because we've had a very wet summer, I think), but there were still some gorgoeous ones there! Here is one such lovely rose. Love the colour!

A sweet little bench, surrounded by beautiful trees. It really is a lovely place to get married!

The view from one side. I think I have an almost identical photo from last year. Or at least a similar photo.

The sun was starting to set as I was taking these photos - it looked so much more beautiful than my little BlackBerry could capture.

Where Sydnee will become Mrs. Sagalla! :) :) :) The arch underwhich she and Keegan will say their vows.

Another cute little bench, right behind where all the chairs will go.

Some pathways to walk around. This will be such a nice place to take pictures!

Again, the archway where it will all happen, and the grassy area where all the guests will be seated.

Rosamund's Wedding Invites!

As promised, here is Rosamund's invite, all edited up to remain "Anonymous." :)
