Rosie

So... My friend Rosie is thinking of getting engaged to her boyfriend Jake in December... Don't know what to think of this. They've only been dating around 2 months! But they seem really into each other, and she says she just thinks he is 'the One.' But I AM really excited, especially since it means I get to help plan another wedding!
But not, officially, until December.
Hmm...

Is this it, Shell?

So, I was in Le Chateau a couple days ago, and I remembered that my friend Shell told me she bought a dress from there for a wedding she's bridesmaid-ing for. (Like my new verb? Haha.) She had described it to me, and I was trying to visualize it, and wanted to see it for myself. And I'm pretty sure this is it! I snapped a picture while the employees weren't looking... Haha.

It's pretty! (Now, watch, this isn't actually the dress! But it seems to match the description!)
There are so many beautiful dresses in Le Chateau. I wish I could buy them all! Haha.

Lantern Love

I love the idea of decorating the reception with lanterns! There's something magical, romantic, and ... I don't know... beautiful about them! They add such a nice touch, I think.

Some Cute Ideas

Just some creative ideas I found on "The Knot" ...

"Rustic signage helped guests navigate the different areas around the reception site."

"The place cards were a creative DIY project. Lia’s mom cut the circular place cards from fallen pine branches found in the bride’s grandparents’ yard in Camino, CA and printed the guests’ names on the front. The couple then stamped the back of each card with brands in the shape of mountain animals and a bull rider."

"In an intimate gesture, the couple’s friends framed pictures taken of Becca and Issac during their engagement photo sessions and hung them on this three-fold, wrought iron room divider."

"For the reception, Kristen’s mom made personalized napkin holders for each guest. The florist then tucked a sprig of rosemary in each napkin to enhance the natural feel of the wedding."

"A heart with an arrow filled with purple petals decorated a tree on the property and sent guests to the reception."

What is Love?

From the movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin (found on http://www.1-love-quotes.com/):

"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two." -St. Augustine

And I Think To Myself...

...What a Cra-a-azy Life!!!!!

My new spin on the classic song. What do you think? True or what?

Well, I'm sitting here, in the library of my school, waiting for my next class to start in an hour and a half. I know I should be doing something productive. But I just want to waste this time, because I am so tired of school right now. I can't wait for my year off, though I don't know what to do with myself... Hmm... (Ideas, anyone?) But seriously, life has been overwhelming lately. I had a test today in Sociology, I have a paper due and an assignment Monday, a test tomorrow for Psych, 2 finals on Tuesday... and then I'm DONE. But the sociology test wasn't too bad. The last question was "What is sociology?" and I wrote a poem about it. :) It was a bit of a risk, I guess, but I think it will pay off. My instructor is one of those people who would find that awesome. But I'm most worried for my Geology final. It's going to be INTENSE. His exams are really hard. He just gives you about 15 questions and you have the 2 hours or whatever to regurgitate everything you know about it ... worth about 90 marks in total, he marks really hard. If you don't write down an answer EXACTLY how he would write it, you get marks off. (I was talking to a classmate yesterday about this and she agreed. She said, you could write "The ocean is blue" and you wouldn't get full marks because his answer would be "the oceanic water is of a bluish tint." Seriously, he is SO picky about the wording. And I'm not even exaggerating.) And you could write all this extra stuff that would be relevent and correct, but because HE didn't really think to answer with that information, you wouldn't get full marks. Agh, it drives me nuts. But I will just have to try my best, that's all I can really do.

Can I just say, too, that I miss my English classes? I found 8 spelling and grammar mistakes in my sociology test today. It drove me crazy!

Unique Wedding Ideas

Just a couple ideas from http://www.ourmarriage.com/:

-For a unique party favour, my groom and I are giving out lottery tickets. Only $1 each... I will have a note in the program stating the tickets were chosen because we are so lucky to have our family and friends with us on our wedding day.

-Instead of having an ordinary guestbook, that you hardly will look at again, I am going to create a photo guestbook. My guestbook attendants will take polaroids of each guest... either individually or in a group, however they come, and put it on the pages of the guestbook/scrapbook. The guests will then sign on the bottom of their picture. My fiancé and I will then have a photo album of all the guests at our wedding! :)

Go Green!

Here are just some inspiration pictures for another favourite colour of mine: green!

From the Nordstrom Closet...

I love the dresses from Nordstrom.com! Very pretty! They even have some wedding dresses (not a lot, but some!) - and for very cheap, too. Here are a few I liked...
This first one is $390. Not bad for a wedding dress!

This one is $179... Not the biggest fan of it, but it's still pretty nice.
Purple! $148. Not sure what a reasonable price for a bridesmaid's dress is, though... Is that too much, do you think?

And in blue...

I like this next one a lot. $158.

And lastly, $168.

Aren't they pretty?

Flower Girl

Just some pictures of cute flower girl dresses! Man, there are some really gaudy flower girl dresses out there, and some that look like they're trying to make their 6-year old look like a 26-year old! It's horrible. Let the children me children. I like these dresses because they look like little girl dresses, suitable for a wedding. I found these while perusing "The Knot" (great wedding site, by the way!), though some of them I forgot to write down their designer. Bad me! Sorry.
Isn't this first one cute, though? It would go well with the flowy chiffon dresses I want my bridesmaids to wear. And like Shell said in the comments on one of my posts, it's a nice idea to have the flower girl wearing white, like the bride!

I like these ones, too. They're so fun, in these bright colours. I don't remember who designed this dress, but I remember they came in a variety of colours.

David's Bridal. Of course, I love my yellow! :)

I love this next photo. Just exquisite.

I have already decided who my flower girl will be at my wedding (silly, huh? :P)- my friend Abbey-Shae's little sister Michelle. She's adorable. She's one right now, and by the time I get married, I figure she'll be the perfect age for a flower girl. She is just so funny, and full of personality already! Abbey and I have babysat her before, and when we put her to bed, I'm always so sad, because I wish she could stay up longer! Haha. I love her. :)

Weddings? Oh, right, Weddings!

Sorry it's been a while since updates. The reason is twofold.
1) Life. Is. Crazy. It really is crunch time at school, and everything is happening all at once. Which doesn't leave much time for wedding thoughts, unfortunately. Luckily, though, only a couple more weeks left of the semester.
2) My internet was down from Saturday to Wednesday. You don't even know how annoying that was. How did people live without internet before? It's crazy.
But, good news is I'm back. Bad news is I don't have much to say about weddings because I haven't thought about them much in the last little while... But, I will try to rectify that....

It's Invitation Time!

And here they are! The mock-ups of Sydnee's invitations! I think they turned out nicely! Of course these are just the 'rough copy' so to speak. When we actually make them, we will measure them properly and such. There are still a few things we need to figure out, but this was just about designing the basic concept. Also, in the top left-hand corner of the front, we want it to say something like "K + S" and then the date in the bottom right corner. But anyways. Enough talking. Here they are!
The front...

Opening it up... (Like my "photos" ? Haha. There will be little black and white ones in the place of my BEAUTIFUL drawings LOL. Doesn't it look just like them?)

And the other flap...

Ta-da! It's opened! In the middle is where all the information will be, and then there will probably be an insert for the RSVP card.

The back...

The table after we were done with it: :)
It was a lot of fun to do! Not as hard as I imagined it might be... We just needed to get going and do it! Woohoo! Now for ACTUALLY making them all...
