Lea-Ann Belter Dresses

So yesterday Sydnee and I went to go see "Avatar." Can I say it wasn't as good as everyone was saying? I mean, it was good, just not super fantastic. A little predictable, and the characters weren't super interesting, and even the 3-D wasn't that "pop-out-y" ... Ah well. It was fun.

But anywho. Weddings. Here are some dresses from Lea-Ann Belter. Gorgeous!

"Allison" -- this one is on "Once Wed" for $2800 (the person selling bought it for $3200!) Sigh... if only I was getting married and had that amount of cash to fork over...

Weddings on the Horizon

So I went out the other day with Sydnee to go see "Avatar" ... how impossible do you think that would be? I mean, it's been playing for how many weeks already? So we go to our local theatre... It is a MAD HOUSE. And the movie's sold out. Figures, huh? Even our back-up was sold out, which I think is because it was EVERYONE'S back-up plan. So, instead we drove a half-hour to an adjacent town to go see it. We get there... and it's EVEN CRAZIER!!!! People were parking illegally. And not just parking in no-parking zones, but dangerously parking, so that half the lane was taken up with a parked car and we all had to take turns getting out. It was actually so crazy. I don't know how many times someone almost hit Sydnee's car, or how many times we got honked at -- all not our fault, either! -- and guess what? While Sydnee was trying desparately to find a parking spot, which there were NONE of, I ran into the theatre, which is huge, I might add, and NOTHING. All the show times for the next coming while are sold out. And our back-ups. So much for that idea, huh? (We're going to try again Wednesday. Are we crazy or what? But maybe the middle of the week will be better than a Saturday night!)

So, instead, we went bowling, and ate at a Mediterranean grill kind of restaurant. The bowling was fun, but slightly expensive. And the food was really good. I had this wrap, like a donair, and it was so good! And Syd had calamarie. She gave me some to try, and I have to say it wasn't half bad. Though there were some scarier looking ones on her plate that even she didn't dare to touch. But ANYWAYS (all of this has a point). Our talk drifted to wedding talk (see, I told you!), of course, and though Sydnee isn't much of a wedding-aholic like I am, or like Shell is, we still talked about it. And we came to the conclusion that it's just too darn expensive! That's the only reason that she isn't married. She and her fella Keegan have been 'engaged' for a while actually. I thought it was kind of informal, but it isn't really. He really did go down on one knee and do the whole shpeal. So, she's thinking of doing, eventually, a back-yard wedding, and even making it a pot-luck dinner. I thought this was interesting, even though I am all for the Whole-Nine-Yards kind of wedding... It has potential to be a sweet wedding, and I told her I'd help her with it when the time comes haha. (She was very much into that! Lol.)

So, maybe there are weddings on the near-horizon for me... Shell (if Frank Austin ever pops the question), and Sydnee...

And maybe, just maybe, mine's on the horizon, too.....

More Augusta Jones

I seriously am just in love with Augusta Jones dresses. Any of these would just be lovely for my far-on-the-horizon wedding. Just beautiful!!

A Modest Proposal

Well it's sunny and beautiful for really the first time in a long time, here. Yay! I hope this sun stays. I hate the cold, rainy weather that my area gets throughtout a lot of the year.

But anyways. Did I tell you that someone I know just recently got engaged? It's so cute. I saw her engagement pictures on Facebook and they were so pretty! Which reminds me... I was looking up engagement stories online and some of them are just plain amazing! There was one where a guy had left the ring inside a rose and so the girl had to play "he loves me, he loves me not" to get the ring. And here's another one:

It had been one of those Mondays, I was finally home from work, and I find an envelope taped to the apartment door. Confused, I open up letter #1 or the beginning of a series of clues that will end in a life-changing event. There is a big black M with a handwritten note talking about the joys of living together, followed by clue #1, "a table we sat at very often when we first started dating eating free food." At this point, I am excited and nervous and, for the moment, not breathing. I take a few breaths and call my mom (Tyler had asked her permission to marry me three days ago). Letter/clue 2 will be found at the place I worked when we first started dating. We spent many nights there getting to know one another as we rolled silverware. The second letter has an A and talks about our awkward beginnings: I am Tyler’s one and only girlfriend, now fiancĂ©e. Clue #2 leads me to our favorite Mexican restaurant: the place we can always be found. Eventually, I find the waiter who has the next letter for me. This letter has an R with a note talking about how we are made for each other. Clue #3 is "I'll love you forever and like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be..." - an inside joke and quote from a Robert Munsch Book. I’m told to go to our college campus and look where I might find this book. I search the library and eventually find the fourth letter. This letter has another R and talks of making all of our dreams come true… together. Clue #4 sends me to the classroom where we had our first class together. Taped to the door, this letter has a Y and talks about how lucky we are to have found each other. Clue #5 sends me to an empty classroom, with a strategically-placed chair and projection screen. This last letter says,"ME?... have a seat." So putting it all together, it spells out Marry Me? I sit down in this dark classroom, thinking I’m alone, and our song starts playing as the background of this homemade movie, and I start crying when it reads "I went home to Louisville for Christmas; little did I know that the greatest present I would get that year was realizing I loved you." The music fades, and Tyler turns me to face him and gets down on one knee. He barely gets out, “I can’t live without you and I don’t want to spend another day thinking that you might not be mine for forever, will you be my lovebird and mate with me for life? Will you marry me? I respond "Yes," hug him, and cry even harder. It was the perfect proposal, everything and more than I thought it would be, the start of our happily ever after.

Cute or what? Haha, I laughed at "lovebird" but I thought it was just so sweet, and creative to do a scavenger hunt like that.

What do you think? How would you like to be proposed to? (I know we, as girls, don't really have any say in it, but what would the perfect proposal look like to you?)

Once Wed

Right now, I am loving the website "Once Wed" (http://www.oncewed.com/) - it just has the most beautiful, funky, sweet, whimsical pictures of weddings ever, and some great ideas and inspirations to choose from!

It also has a used wedding dress section where brides can buy or sell dresses that have been 'once wed' (used once) or some that even have the tags on them still! There are some great deals, so I recommend you check them out! :)

Le quatorze janvier, deuz-mille dix.

I am in love with this dress. It's Maggy London and one hundred percent gorgeous. The only thing is, I wouldn't use it as a wedding dress, because I don't want a short dress. But I like it just the way it is. I think making it longer wouldn't be as cute (I'd still like it, though). Maybe I'll get a dress like this for my bachelorette party? Unless my friends are going to be really evil and do something where wearing a dress like this would not work well... Yikes! The possibilities...

On another note... Woah, just realized it's one month until Valentines. (AKA S.A.D.) Another February 14th coming and going, and I will still be single. Still be waiting...
But anyhoo. I have to head off now, so more later!
Love, M.

Photo-moneygrab-ers

Who knew photographers were expensive? Well, yes, I knew. But I didn't know just HOW expensive! I was just researching their prices, not thinking they'd be THAT bad... but just the top few off of Google in my area cost about $4000!!! Wow. No wonder no one gets married nowadays. It's too expensive!!

I mean, I want photos that are really beautiful. But... $4000?!?!? And the price will probably have gone up by the time I get married....

Sigh... Why is the world so expensive?!

Sunshine Yellow

I am loving yellow right now!
Check out this neat table for a wedding!

I just love the look of yellow and white together! It's so ... happy, I guess. And isn't your wedding supposed to be the happiest moment of your life?
Hopefully my Prince Charming goes for it. Haha. ;)

Happy 2010!

Wow, 2010, already! I can remember the change of the millenium and I can't believe it was already a decade ago! Yikes! Time sure does fly when you're having fun.

Well, I was talking to Shell a while back, and she showed me this site about cupcakes! You have to see it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lecupcake/sets/72157621646674435/show/ It's a slideshow with all these different pictures of the cutest cupcakes you have ever seen. Because, that's what I'm thinking of doing, instead of a cake. Well, maybe I'll have a one-layered cake on top, but the rest just colourful cupcakes. I'm really thinking of a yellow colour scheme, and so I think yellow and white cupcakes would be the sweetest! (There's a really good picture of some yellow cupcakes in the slideshow.) Also, in this slideshow, there's some really cute pictures of cupcakes inside of teacups! I wish I could do this at my wedding, but I don't know how you could do it, practically. But I'll keep the idea in mind for future reference.

Wow, the above paragraph was such a girly girl paragraph. Just saying, ya know? Haha. But I guess that's what this blog is all about! ;)
